ABOUT GILI NANGGU
ISLAND
Gili Nanggu located at South West of
Lombok Island, the ideal place for your under water experience.
In low season, there are rarely visitor coming to this island and
possible to be lonely feel on paradise but particularly on July,
August, Christmas and New Year is already popular with the Domestic
and European who come visiting for one day trip or stay for couple
night.
Snorkeling activities is the main attractive activities on this
island although the reef has dramatically change since the early
NINETIES, mainly due to the El-Nino effect and rising water
temperatures in such shallow waters, there are still an abundance of
a hundred colorful fish. They are so accustomed to visitor swimming
with them, they actually come right up and brush against your body
as you are snorkeling. This is the only one place in Gili Island
where you have opportunity to observe tropical fish face to face.
Mostly the one day visitor bring some bred to feed the fish while
snorkeling and Gili Nanggu is a beautiful place to visit and
snorkeling opportunities are still good. You can easily reach
GILI NANGGUGU by boat trip through Lembar Harbor taking only 30
mintute but the shortest way through Tawun taking only 15 minutes by
outrigger boat.
The other three small Gilis – Gili Sudak, Gili Tangkong and Gili
Sulat. To the north of the bay, the mainland juts out into a
peninsula and it almost seems you could walk across to Gili Sudak at
low tide. The central island, Gili Tangkong, is long and wide with a
small hill in the centre and, lying just to the west, is the low
rise of Gili Nanggu. Of the three islands, striking in geographic
similarity to the famous “Gili Islands”, Gili Nanggu is the
furthermost and most developed of the three; in much the same way as
Gili Trawangan in the northwest.
